Happy Birthday to Our Patron.

Image
Happy Birthday to our Golf Club Patron Jeff Perry. Jeff was seen having a beer after a gruelling day on the golf course where due to conditions he couldn't use his cart. Jeff may have had to walk the 18 holes in wet conditions but he wasn't going to miss his game of golf and a drink with his mates on his special day.

Golf NSW Play 9 in 2022

Image
Dear Member Clubs and Districts, Play 9 is back in 2022, and golfers around Australia have the chance to win a spot in the national final at the Australian Open in Melbourne this December! It's the perfect way to attract new golfers to the game and keep existing golfers coming back to the course during precious daylight hours in the winter months. It's easy - just run as many 9-hole competitions at your Club as possible (make sure you send the results to GolfLink) between July 1st and September 30th, 2022. A player may play as many 9-hole competitions as they like during the period, and each 9-hole round counts as one entry into the competition. To be eligible for the competition, members must also have a  Golf Australia  account and select the tick box to receive offers and promotions. At the end of the competition period, in NSW and the ACT, two male and two female qualifiers will be selected at random to play in the 2022 Play 9 National final, so ev...

Shots of the Month

Image
We have decided to start to celebrate members who hit those shots we would all like to hit.  There hasn't been a lot to talk about over the last couple of months as the course hasn't been at its best but this month a couple of shots stood out Glen Basari Hole in 1 on the 6th Hole On  Sunday 5th June Glenn Barsi hit the shot of the day on the 6th that his playing partners Brian Kelly, Eric Walker and Colin Coote thought went close but there were cheers all round when the ball was in the hole - Well done Glen shame I wasn'[t in the bar for that drink Pat Bone got the Eagles Nest ( 24 Balls) On  Tuesday the 7th June Pat Bone hit a ball to 55cm to win the Eagles Nest and 24 balls. Considering the pin was up the back of the green it took a great shot Pat to get that close  if you have any stories about you'r playing partners that you think the other members would like to know about send me a text on 0418822336.

The final round will be played on Sunday the 10th July. Preferred Lies are Back

Image
Members, The good news is the course is finally starting to get to a stage that we can revert back to preferred lies from Saturday's competition on the 11th June Please read the board to the extent of the preferred lie,  you will still need to keep an eye on the high balls as there are still a few areas where the ball can plug. Remember the rule for plugged balls is nearest point of full relief no closer to the hole  not half way across the fairway If the conditions continues to improve the match committee can't see any reason why we cant play the next round of the memorial cup on Sunday 12th and the Monthly Medal and Eclectic on Tuesday 14th June  - Keep an eye on the blog

Correction to Sunday Medal Round

Image
As the condition of the course has not improved enough to run a Monthly Medal round a decision has been made to postpone the June Sunday Medal and replace it with a single stableford The Medal round and Eclectic will be played at a later date
