Please Wear Your Mask

Members please remember that it is compulsory to wear your mask as soon as you pass the toilets and as soon as you come over the bridge at the completion of your round You must also wear your mask on the putting green and whilst milling around waiting to hit off. We cant afford to get caught as to many members are very slack in this department.

This week at Breakers

Image
It's been a busy week this week with full fields on Tuesdays and Saturdays.  Sundays are busy but there seems to be spots available if members want a game. A big thank you to the members for adhering to covid protocols. Lots of members and visitors are playing through the week on non comp days so fields are full most days. One of the consequences of this is damage to the course so please keep an eye on divots and pitch marks and repair where possible There has been some really good scores with winners needing to get 20 points plus to take home the bacon. The Mystery Partners is going well so keep an eye on the blog to see who you draw. The only real holdup has been on the 4th hole so please be mindful and consider going to the back of the green and call the following players up You would have noticed that we have a number of people starting the comp and the the captain and committee is thankful to the volunteers that have given their time to help the comp run smoothly. ]

Golf Course Renovations on Monday 6th September

Image
Ken Pearson has advised that the course renovations planned for the first Monday in September will still go ahead. However with the COVID restrictions Ken will only use the ground staff to carry out the work, At the moment he is considering closing the course until midday on that day to give the staff a clear run Keep an eye on the blog as we will update you as soon as as we know exactly whats happening He will bring the staff in specially to do the job and understands that we would like to offer our usual assistance, however, he feels that the risk is too great with the COVID situation.  If you can filter the word out that we will still have the renovations, however, no need for the volunteer assistance.

From The Club Captain

To our Golf Members. As most of you are aware, we now have a starter on the first tee for Breakers men’s comps. Getting players away on time has been a huge success.  On behalf of the Golf Committee and I would like to thank you all for your cooperation, this has made for a more enjoyable round of golf. Its great news, more and more members are looking at the Blog, please continue to promote the Blog to other members.  Competition Starters We will continue to have a starter for our 9-hole comps. With 120 starters, it is most important we continue to be on time and ready to tee-off., also t o avoid hold ups on the course, can I please remind players, you have only 3 minutes to look for a ball.    Course Condition  With the volume of golfers currently using the course, we need to be mindful of repairing pitch marks, divots on the fairway and more importantly divots on the tees.  EMAIL ADDRESS for the CLUB CAPTAIN Should any Golf Members have questions to do with Golf Club matters,
