Where’s My Buggy

Don Ball reflecting on last Saturday afternoon, still not sure what happened, it all started after he hit a great drive on the third short of the bunker on the right just before the creek with steel trap like concertation he proceeded to hit his second shot a seven iron straight but short of the green, not bad he though as he went to put his club into his bag. Bugger no bag or buggy in sight nor did his playing partners have any clue where his clubs and buggy were.

Nothing in front or behind him starting to wonder if the golfing gods were getting back at him for such a good tee shot, he heard a churning sound coming from the drain on the right-hand side of the path and there they were in the deepest murkiest part of the drain upside down with the wheels still turning

Off with his shoes and socks and into the deeps of the murky drain to save his beloved clubs and after great effort he pulled and shoved them to safety. He then realized that the pockets were opened on his bag and there was no phone, keys and tees.

Back into the sludge up to his elbows looking for his missing chattels and after some time and lots of verbal assistance from his partners he found everything except a few tees and his beloved pencil sharpener. Alas he day of golf was over, covered from head to toe with what you could only describe as oily sludge, his partners weren’t to finish the round with him and with very sympathetic advice from Viv his wife he was off home to soak himself and everything else.

If you were wondering Don's phone is still working, his buggy needed a new controller board via Geoff Perry who someone report was lurking nearby in the trees maybe looking for opportunity to get new business and he had to buy a new bag as unable to get the sludge completely out, now going cheap

Moral of the story "always point your buggy in the direction away from the water before you take your nest shot."
