Terrigal Cup 2026 It was a pity that Terrigal Cup needed to be postponed but when the call was made at 6.00 am it was not only raining but the practice green had water on it and the ground staff were unable to complete setup/mowing /rolling of greens. " Damned if you do and damned if you don't". New date will be advised later this week. However some members stilled played, with one member claiming interim winning status and looks like he already had his winning speech prepared.  "Best on the day that should have been today.... interim champ until run again. "Never called off a British Open, so I'll claim the interim title today. I'd like to thank my sponsors and numerous supporters in the club who never doubted me despite some tough recent times. To my coach Scottie "Scheff" Blackmore, this one is for you. To all the little kids learning the game, stick with it and you too can conquer the world."

Hippy Hippy Shake Social Night What a great night! More than 70 members and guests attended our Hippy Hippy Shake Social Night , and the disco certainly went down a treat, with no shortage of dancing throughout the evening. Plenty of members got into the spirit of the evening and dressed up in their best ’60s outfits.   SUPER SENIORS PENNANTS ROUND 6 SUPER SENIORS PENNANTS – ROUND 6 FINAL ROUND OF THE SEASON Our final round of Super Seniors Pennants saw Breakers take on the current Division leaders, Shelly Beach , at home. With home-ground advantage and a total handicap advantage of 69 to 73 , we were confident of giving Shelly Beach a tough contest. However, those expectations soon evaporated as the blustery conditions arrived. Shelly Beach showed why they are the current leaders, using their experience in playing in strong winds to their advantage and getting ahead in most matches by the turn. There were, however, some great fightbacks from the Breakers team. Greg Swanson , a seasoned campaigner, led from the beginning and finished early with an impressive 7 & 6 victory . Glenn Bainbridge produced a great comeback after being down at the sixth, fighting his way back to win 4 & 3 . Wayne Fuller also showed plenty of determination, coming from behind to record a 4 & 2 win . Wayne...

SUPER SENIORS PENNANTS ROUND 5  This week our Super Seniors travelled to Toukley to take on the home side on a course presented in excellent condition. The fairways had dried out nicely after recent wet weather, were well covered with grass, and the true, fast greens made for an enjoyable day of golf. After our convincing 7–1 victory over Toukley at Breakers earlier in the season, the home team was keen to gain a little revenge. They managed to do just that, but only after a series of closely fought matches, eventually edging us out 4½–3½. Congratulations to Phil Carter and Pete Searle , who both recorded dominant 6 & 5 victories, while Glenn Bainbridge continued his outstanding form with a solid 3 & 2 win. Warren "Doc" Butts battled all the way to the final hole. One down playing the 18th, Warren won the last to halve his match and earn a valuable half point for the team. One of the matches of the day belonged to Greg Swanson . All square heading to the 18th tee...

Super Seniors Men's Pennants – Round 4 It was always going to be a tough assignment taking on the competition leaders, Shelley Beach, on their home course—particularly with a couple of our regular stars enjoying some winter sunshine on the Queensland border. Despite the challenge, the Breakers team gave Shelley Beach a real run for their money, with several matches going right down to the wire and capable of swinging either way. Congratulations to our winners: Club President Glenn , who recorded a solid 2 & 1 victory, Greg Swanson , who held on for a 1-up win, and Warren "Doc" Butts , who battled hard to square his match. Shelley Beach 5.5 Breakers 2.5 The remaining results certainly didn't reflect how competitive the contests were. Pete Searle found himself a little star-struck after discovering his opponent was the former drummer of AC/DC. These days his rival spends six or seven days a week on the golf course, giving him a slight advantage on Shelley Beach...

Super Seniors Men's Pennants – Round 3 Back on a wet home course, Breakers produced an outstanding performance in Round 3 of the Super Seniors Men's Pennants against Toukley. Despite the wet conditions, Breakers proved too strong, winning seven of the eight matches . It was a dominant team effort, with every player contributing to an impressive victory. With such a convincing result, it was no surprise to see plenty of smiles around the clubhouse after the match as the Breakers team celebrated another successful day in the pennant competition.

SUPER SENIORS PENNANTS 2026 Round 2 This week the Super Seniors travelled to Wyong to take on the home side. Unfortunately, the result wasn’t as good as last week, with Wyong winning 6.5 to 1.5   Congratulations to Mick Bowditch, who recorded our only win of the day, and to Dean Osborne, who battled hard to secure a valuable half on the 18th hole. Glenn and Dieter were unlucky to loose on the 18th The rest of the team gave it their best effort, but the long, wet course conditions made scoring difficult. To make matters even tougher, the greens were lightning fast and proved extremely challenging.   We now look forward to next week’s home match against Toukley, teeing off at 9:00 a.m. If you’re available, come along and support the team—we’d love to see plenty of familiar faces cheering us on.

Shortened 8 th hole from the temporary tee, near the 2 nd Tee.   * Change of Indexing With the event of the 3 New Greens. If you are using the App, this will automatically advise you of the new index and what shots you get on that hole. If you are still using a card, the index changes will also automatically change when the card is printed. This ONLY affects the Men’s Card. *Motorised carts No motorised carts thi...

SUPER SENIORS PENNANTS 2026 Breakers Super Seniors Report – Monday 6th July Despite persistent rain leaving the course extremely wet, the decision was made to play Monday's Super Seniors pennant match at Breakers Golf Club. With conditions underfoot making play difficult, competitors were permitted to tee the ball up through the green, ensuring the match could proceed fairly and safely. The difficult conditions certainly didn't dampen the enthusiasm of the Breakers team, who produced an outstanding 5–3 victory over Wyong. It was a tremendous team effort, with every player battling hard in testing conditions. Leading the winners was Steve Adlard, who secured his match on the 18th green after holing a nerve-racking final putt to claim a memorable victory. Rick Petrie continued his consistent form with a solid 3 & 1 win, while Wayne Fuller recorded an impressive 5 & 4 victory after a putting display where he seemingly couldn't miss all day. Although they didn'...
