TUESDAY 10TH MARCH COURSE OPE N     With over 70 mm of rain recorded on the course yesterday, lets say theres not much run. A few of the bunkers have been taken out of play and preferred lies through the greens. Bikes are allowed but restricted to certain areas. temporary  green on the 5/14 still in play.  

 PENNANTS 2026 The next round is on Sunday 15 March at Shelly Beach  commencing at 7.00am followed by the final round at Kooindah Waters on Sunday 22 March. Wyong holds a slender 1 point lead over Magenta Shores in the overall Sterland Shield with Kooindah Waters 2 points further back but both Wyong and Magenta Shores have 2 more contests whereas Kooindah Waters has only 1 and the winner looks likely to be Magenta Shores or Wyong. B Grade : Breakers with 4 contest points are running in the back of the pack, but from all accounts having a great time playing the different format and courses. Magenta Shores 11 and Toukley 9 fighting it out for the winners prize. C Grade: Breakers continue to play well running in second position with 9 contest points behind Kooindah Waters with 12 points. The score is actually closer than it looks as Kooindah Waters have played one more match than Breakers giving them a 2 point advantage until the last round when they will have a scoreless bye. So...

      Last night we had damage to the 1st green by vandals on scooters. Anyone with any information please report to Breakers Management. 5th Hole has a temporary green for the next two weeks to help with recovery.

  DIFFICULT LIE Whilst 70 members competed at home in a Canadian Foursomes, congratulations to Brett Durrington and Peter Styles who beat Chris Eaton and Ken (down the middle) Baker with a nett 64 on a course that played considerably well considering all the rain and light coring of the greens. A group of 12 members travelled to Muree Golf Club at Raymond Terrace, where they are having a bit of trouble with their greens, that said the course was kind to Alan Ball who returning from injury, had a great score of 42 points of a handicap of 6. However, the course wasn’t so kind to some who found the lies very difficult, even using the tongue in the swing didn’t help. I believe Wayne took the shot anyway, talk about competitive or just Stu…….?

PENNANTS 7TH ROUND: BREAKERS Vs WYONG at GOSFORD An early start with Tee off at 6.30am at Gosford and from all accounts the course has not held up well after all the wet. Breakers B and C Grade teams took on a very strong Wyong outfit at Gosford, with the early 6:35am tee time making ball tracking off the tee extremely difficult in the low light. Combined with a very wet course, conditions were challenging from the outset. First to the tee was Peter Cartledge, making his return to the pennants side after many years. Pete went down 3 & 2. In his own words, he struggled off the tee, which made scoring tough in the heavy conditions at Gosford.   Andrew McSwan faced a very consistent Wyong opponent and went down 5 & 4. Luck just wasn't on Andrew's side today.   Allan Hockley continued his strong and consistent form this season, securing another solid win, 3 & 2.   Scotty Blackmore, playing at number one, took his match all the way to the 18th hole.  MIXED FOURSOMES POSTPONED Due to heavy rain overnight flooding our course and with the lagoon not yet opened Captain,Peter has advised that the committee has decided to postpone the Foursomes Championships to Saturday 18th April. At this stage current entries will remain unless members advise the committee otherwise. A decision will be made by ground staff at 5.pm if course will be openned tomorrow for play but with further rain on the way it is most unlikely. If so it will be a shortened course with preferred lies through the green.

 2026 Men’s Singles Matchplay Knockout 32 Players will contest the finals. Qualification for the 32 places in the handicap knockout stage will commence :. Saturday 21st the best 10 Stableford Scores Sunday 22nd the best 8 Stableford scores Tuesday 24th the best 14 Stableford scores Each Player can only enter knockout qualifications on one day. You must nominate the date you wish your score to count.( before you play) Entry form in the Pro Shop.  Entries close Sunday 21st March, 5.00 pm The Matchplay knockout first round will commence 1st Round: Sat 1st April and all rounds must be played by the 30th April. 2nd Round must be played by 30th May.
