SUPER SENIORS PENNANTS ROUND 5 This week our Super Seniors travelled to Toukley to take on the home side on a course presented in excellent condition. The fairways had dried out nicely after recent wet weather, were well covered with grass, and the true, fast greens made for an enjoyable day of golf. After our convincing 7–1 victory over Toukley at Breakers earlier in the season, the home team was keen to gain a little revenge. They managed to do just that, but only after a series of closely fought matches, eventually edging us out 4½–3½. Congratulations to Phil Carter and Pete Searle , who both recorded dominant 6 & 5 victories, while Glenn Bainbridge continued his outstanding form with a solid 3 & 2 win. Warren "Doc" Butts battled all the way to the final hole. One down playing the 18th, Warren won the last to halve his match and earn a valuable half point for the team.
