Rules to Remember - Unplayable Lie in Bunker

Can you take relief from a bunker?
If you don't want to or decide you can't play your ball as it lies when your ball is in a bunker, you may decide it is unplayable. If you do this, you have 4 total options.

The players four options: See reference numbers on diagram

(1) For one penalty stroke, the player may take stroke-and-distance relief by dropping a new ball and playing from the same spot the original ball was played

(2) For one penalty stroke, the player may take back-on-the-line relief in the bunker.

(3) For one penalty stroke, the player may take lateral relief in the bunker.

(4) For a total of two penalty strokes, the player may take back-on-the-line relief outside the bunker based on a reference line going straight back from the hole through the spot of the original ball.
