Club Championship Results

"The Club Championships have now been completed after 36 holes stoke play qualifying and

3 rounds of knockout match play.Alan Ball shot 2 great rounds of 71 to lead the A grade qualifiers while Dieter Hajduk led B grade qualifiers,and Mike Laws led C grade. 

Unfortunately these  number ones were all knocked out in the first round of match play.

The finals were played on Saturday 2nd November after 60mm of rain had fallen on the course over 2 days.

After a 20 minute delay and with the prospect of clearing weather, we decided to go ahead and play.Nick Merritt started warm favourite against Steve Adlard but  Steve went ahead early and gave Nick a fright before Nick found his game and won 3&1.

B grade was the closest fought match between Wayne Fuller and Brad Callanan.A see sawing match was all square with 4 to play.Wayne managed to win the 15th and 16th holes before halving the 17th to score a 2&1 victory.

C grade John Foster was the dark horse with 2 wins under his belt before he came up against a red hot Rod Stanley in the final.

Rod had been a runner up 5 times in Championships but this time brought his best form to win 9&7.

Congratulations to all the qualifiers and especially our Club Champions Nick Merritt, Wayne Fuller and Rod Stanley.
