From the Captain

Upgrade to the 5th and 7th greens.

We now have Machinery on site and work has commenced on the 5 th and 7th

greens. Lots of activity levelling and salvaging the topsoil.

This has created a few questions regarding GUR and drop zones. Currently we

only have one Drop Zone on the left of the 5 th Fairway. I have requested that

more drop zones be installed.

The work site is a no-go area for golfers. I appreciate that if your ball goes on

to the work site you naturally want to retrieve it. Steps are being taken to

shield the work area with some kind of fence to prevent balls going on to the

work area.

Temporary greens are improving and in time should be a lot better. The 5 th

temporary has a sprinkler head left of centre. You are permitted to move your

ball if the sprinkler head is in line with the hole.

I have asked Wayne to mow a fringe around the outside edge of the temporary

greens to make putting and chipping fairer

B and C Grade Pennant

The Pennant season is well under way now and Breakers have had a

reasonable start. Matches against Wyong at Kooindah were close matches.

Wyong winning close matches in both grades.

A great result for both teams at Shelly Beach where our opponents were

Gosford GC. C grade winning 2 and a half to 1 and a half. B grade winning 3 – 2.

Match finished 2 each and Wayne Fuller won the play off at the first extra hole.

Special mention to Greg Duval who has a couple of wins under his belt.

This Sunday we take on Everglades at Gosford GC

Bunkers

It was disappointing on Tuesday to find quite a few bunkers that had

not been raked properly. Footprints especially. The green staff assure

me they were raked before the comp started. Can I ask all members

to make sure they rake bunkers, including footprints and make sure

the rake is not on the edge of the bunkers after raking.

Expired Golf Balls

Another reminder to members, collect all golf balls owed to you

before they expire, you have 90 days to collect from the pro shop.

Enjoy your golf.
