Championships Conditions of PLay

Men’s Club Championships 2024

The Club Championships will commence with a 36 Holes Qualifying Stroke Event. Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th October. 

Matchplay - Round 3 Saturday October 19th 

Round 4 Sunday October 20th 

 Round 5 Final Saturday November 2nd • 

Rounds 1 and 2 tee times and groups will be seeded in handicaps by the Committee 

A Grade 0 - 12 

B Grade 13 - 19 

C Grade 20 - 36 

• All handicaps will remain static for the 5 rounds. 

The Veterans Championships 

is for all members over 55 and is only played over Round 1 & Round 2 of 36 holes. 

• There will be an 18 Hole Stroke and Net daily Competition for Round 1 & Round 2 played under Championship handicaps. 

• Players are requested to be ready for their tee times 15 minutes prior to tee off. 

• Any player(s) late for their allocated tee time will be disqualified under rule 6-3. 

• This event is under direct control of the Breakers Men’s Golf Committee. All protests and disputes must be referred to the Golf Match Committee within 30 minutes of completion of the event. Decisions made by the Breakers Men’s Match Committee will be final. 

• Competition fee of $20 per round, with $40 for the first 2 rounds to be paid on day one.

Competition Formats and Prizes 

36 Hole qualifying stroke event in A, B & C grades 

• Top 8 players in each grade qualify for Matchplay 

• If any ties a countback will decide placings. (I.e. Best 2nd 18 holes.) 

• 1 st place Gross each day in grades A, B & C - $25 

• 1 st place Net each day in grades A, B & C - $45 

• 2 nd place Net each day in grades A, B & C - $30 

• 3 rd place Net each day in grades A, B & C - $20 

• 36 Hole Event Gross Winner in each grade - $25 

• 36 Hole Event Net Winner in each grade - $25 

 Veteran Championships 

• 36 Holes Gross Winner (Countback if tied) $100 

• 36 Holes Gross 2nd place $50 • 36 Holes Net Winner prize in conjunction $100 

• 36 Holes Net 2nd place $50

Club Championship Matchplay 

• Round 1 of Matchplay is the top 8 in A, B & C grades 

• (1 v 8), (2 v 7), (3 v 6), (4 v 5) 

• Each match is over 18 holes off scratch (No Handicaps) 

• If a match is tied after 18 holes play will continue from the 19th hole until a result is reached. 

• Round 1 Matchplay losers in each grade receive - $30 

• Round 2 of Matchplay is the 4 Winners from Round 1 in each grade 

• (1 v 4), (2 v 3) 

• Round 2 Matchplay losers in each grade receive - $50

Round 3 Final of Matchplay is the 2 Winners from Round 2 in each grade 

• Winner in each grade will be awarded Men’s Club Champion - $200 

• Runner Up in each grade - $100
