2 025 SENIOR PENNANT ROUND 1RESULTS OUTSTANDING WIN FOR ‘A’ GRADE What a great start to the Senior Pennant competition. It has been a quite a few years since Breakers entered an ‘A’ Grade side in the District Pennant. Our first match was held at Toukley GC. Conditions were great for golf and our A, B and C grade teams fired up and ready to go. Our opponents for the first match, Kooindah Waters. A grade led the way with Greg Duval, Adam Knight, Nick Merritt (Captain), Greg Swanson, Alan Ball and Phil Carter. Most of the matches were remarkably close and Phil Carter securing a half in his match to give the team an Historic Victory, 3 ½ to 2 ½ win. Wins for Alan Ball, Nick Merritt and Greg Swanson. ‘ B’ GRADE ‘B’ Grade had a disappointing start to their 2025 Pennants campaign, going down 2 ½ - 1 ½. Don Ball reflecting on last Saturday afternoon, still not sure what happened, it all started after he hit a great drive on the third short of the bunker on the right just before the creek with steel trap like concertation he proceeded to hit his second shot a seven iron straight but short of the green , not bad he though as he went to put his club into his bag. Bugger no bag or buggy in sight nor did his playing partners have any clue where his clubs and buggy were. Nothing in front or behind him starting to wonder if the golfing gods were getting back at him for such a good tee shot, he heard a churning sound coming from the drain on the right-hand side of the path and there they were in the deepest murkiest part of the drain upside down with the wheels still turning Off with his shoes and socks and into the deeps of the murky drain to save his beloved clubs and after great effort he pulled and shoved them to safety.
