Pennant Update

Round 2 of Pennants,
B and C Grade teams headed to the hills to Mangrove Mountain to take on high flying Everglades, who demolished Shelley Beach last week. Course was heavy from overnight deluge, resulting in official declaring preferred lies through the greens - the right call too as was very boggy in many parts.

The greens were varied, some were lightening quick we expect - others quite slow. Overall, very much improved results from last week so well done to all!

B Grade (A/S - 1 1/2 - 1 1/2 pts)
Team 1 - Peter Searle & Neale Carr (A/S). Came back from 3 down to level it on 17 with a 20 foot putt from Peter, then just missed the putt on last for the win.

Team 2 - Colm Carey & Rod Hutchinson (Down 2 & 1) Great match going back and forth all day, level on 15 but were edged out by some really good shots over last few.

Team 3 - Rod Mickelson & Paul English (WON 2 &1) The two super subs leading the way for the team with a great win. According to Harry, Rod hit a purple patch over 5 holes coming home to help seal the deal.

C Grade ( Win 2pts to 1pt)

Team 1 - Chris Mott & Gary Evans (WON 8 & 7) Last to start, first to have a beer in the clubhouse to celebrate with an absolutely dominant victory. The boys played amazing together and could have won 10&8 if a couple of putts dropped. BOOM.

Team 2 - Phil White & Colin Coote (Lost 3 & 2) Fell behind early and wasn't looking good through 9, but had a brilliant run to pull a few back before running out of holes and going down.

Team 3 - Pat Hudson & Jeff Perry (Won 2 up) Back and forth battle, but the lads kept the petrol in the tank with 2 x birdies in the last 3 holes to storm home and seal the deal and a magnificent win that ultimately gave Breakers overall club honours on the day.

Next week teams travel up to Wyong to take on Gosford from 11:15am tee off. Best of luck to all teams!!
