WELCOME TO 2025

Happy New Year to you all, I hope you stay healthy and enjoy another year of great friendship and Golf atBreakers.

We have much to look forward to this year. Starting with our,

Presentation Night

We have our presentation night which will be held on Saturday 15th February 2025. I do hope as many of the club golfers and their partners will attend and support our 2024 trophy winners. 

We will endeavour to make it a fun night for all. Ticket will be available soon.

9th Green Upgrade

I do believe Mounties are very close to appointing the contractor to upgrade the 9 th Green. This will create some disruption to the length of the ninth hole but will be well worth it.

Senior Pennants 2025

Senior Pennants kicks off on 12 th January and this year we are proud to have an A grade team led by our Club Ch ampion Nick Merritt. B and C grade teams both have strong teams, 

B grade will be captained by Wayne Fuller and C grade under the guidance of JeffPerry. 

This year the format for play has changed and Breakers will be hosting two days and Im sure the teams would be grateful for support.

Four Ball Best Ball Matchplay Knockout

The Match committee have decided to hold a FBBB Match play Knockout. 

This is scheduled to start in March and will run in conjunction with our normal Sunday and Tuesday comps. 

We have investigated holding a Singles knockout but tee times and the fact we are a 9-hole course, does make it somewhat difficult. Final details will be available later this month.

Central Coast Prostate Cancer Support Group

You the members, are to be congratulated for the support you gave to the Prostate Cancer research fund raiser. The committee have decided that this should be an annual event. 

It is good to know that the funds we raise may support our own members who are suffering from Prostate Cancer.

The First week of September will be the first week of our Charity fund raising and will be sponsored by Patron Lance Harrigan.

This will be followed by the Axeman Shoot out qualifying and the final being played on Sunday 12 th October.

A charity fun/quiz night will be held on Sat 11th October 2025

Once again, many thanks for your support and the generous donation we received from Mounties.

Friday Night Draw

It is fantastic to see so many golfers attend the draw on a Friday.

For our new members, draw commences at 5.00 pm, after the Ode. 

Occasionally we do give away some golf balls. If you can make the draw, it is a great opportunity to meet other members and if your card is drawn out early, you get the opportunity to choose your tee time.

Putting Competition

We held a match play putting competition on Friday 13 th Dec, after the draw. Turned out to be an extremely competitive event with 26 entrants. 

The winner of the Main comp was Adam Quayle, using a borrowed putter, you cannot beat those old Ping Pal putters.

Several members requested we hold another putting comp before day light savings ends. Note for your diary. Friday 21 February 2025 – Putting Competition. to commence after the draw at 5.30pm, Open to both Men and Lady golf members.

2025 Fixture Calendar

The 2025 fixture calendar is nearly complete, and we hope to have them ready very soon.

Brisbane Water District Vets Members

We have many members at Breakers who enjoy the benefits of BWDVGC, we play on Mondays, at other clubs on the Central Coast for $25 a game. 

To be a member, you must be over 55 years of age and hold a Golflink handicap.
