Super Seniors Golf Pennants Report

The first round of the Super Seniors Pennants was held at home this morning on a lovely sunny day with our team putting in a spirited performance against strong opposition. The course was finally drying out, and the weather made for ideal playing conditions, contributing to some exciting matches across the board. With the home game advantage Breakers came home victors with a final score of 5 to 3. 

Individual Results:

  • Player 1 (Greg Swanson) – loss 2&1

  • Player 2 (Dean Osborne) – loss 4& 3

  • Player 3 (Steve Adlard) – Win 3 & 2  

  • Player 4 (Rick Petrie)- Win 4 & 3

  • Player 5 (Wayne Fuller) – Win 4&3

  • Player 6 (Glen Bainbridge) – Win 2 up

  • Player 7 (Pete Searle) – Win 6 & 5

  • Player 8 (Warren Butts) loss 1 down

It was a closely contested day with several matches going down to the final holes. Standout performances included Pete's dominant 6&5 win confirming his Captains choice, something about an old .... and experience and Steve Adlard's gallant fight back from 3 down to winning 3 & 2.

Special mention to newcomer Warren Butts who held steady under pressure losing his match only
lipping out with his put on the last hole, and to all players for maintaining great sportsmanship throughout the day.

“Very proud of the team's effort today. Everyone fought hard, and it was great to see us come away with the win.

2 025 SENIOR PENNANT ROUND 1RESULTS OUTSTANDING WIN FOR ‘A’ GRADE What a great start to the Senior Pennant competition. It has been a quite a few years since Breakers entered an ‘A’ Grade side  in the District Pennant. Our first match was held at Toukley GC. Conditions were great for golf and our A, B and C grade teams fired up and ready to go. Our opponents for the first match, Kooindah Waters. A grade led the way with Greg Duval, Adam Knight, Nick Merritt  (Captain), Greg Swanson, Alan Ball and Phil Carter. Most of the matches were remarkably close and Phil Carter securing a  half in his match to give the team an Historic Victory, 3 ½ to 2 ½ win. Wins for Alan Ball, Nick Merritt and Greg Swanson. ‘ B’ GRADE ‘B’ Grade had a disappointing start to their 2025 Pennants campaign,  going down 2 ½ - 1 ½. Rod Stanley, Nick Merritt and Wayne Fuller "The Club Championships have now been completed after 36 holes stoke play qualifying and 3 rounds of knockout match play.Alan Ball shot 2 great rounds of 71 to lead the A grade qualifiers while Dieter Hajduk led B grade qualifiers,and Mike Laws led C grade.  Unfortunately these  number ones were all knocked out in the first round of match play.
