BREAKERS CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP 2025

This weekend saw 52 players compete in our club, championship qualifier over two days in fine weather. The course was in great condition, and the pin placements were fair but challenging especially on our new 9th / 18th green where I believe even our “A” grades managed some triple bogies. A special thanks to Craig who added some nice touches around the course like mown aprons at the front of the greens and overall presentation of the course.

Although there were plenty of stories about missed opportunities, bad bounces and if only, at the end of the day winners are grinners and in this case, there are eight players in each division go through to next week’s match play format well done to you all.

2 025 SENIOR PENNANT ROUND 1RESULTS OUTSTANDING WIN FOR ‘A’ GRADE What a great start to the Senior Pennant competition. It has been a quite a few years since Breakers entered an ‘A’ Grade side  in the District Pennant. Our first match was held at Toukley GC. Conditions were great for golf and our A, B and C grade teams fired up and ready to go. Our opponents for the first match, Kooindah Waters. A grade led the way with Greg Duval, Adam Knight, Nick Merritt  (Captain), Greg Swanson, Alan Ball and Phil Carter. Most of the matches were remarkably close and Phil Carter securing a  half in his match to give the team an Historic Victory, 3 ½ to 2 ½ win. Wins for Alan Ball, Nick Merritt and Greg Swanson. ‘ B’ GRADE ‘B’ Grade had a disappointing start to their 2025 Pennants campaign,  going down 2 ½ - 1 ½. Rod Stanley, Nick Merritt and Wayne Fuller "The Club Championships have now been completed after 36 holes stoke play qualifying and 3 rounds of knockout match play.Alan Ball shot 2 great rounds of 71 to lead the A grade qualifiers while Dieter Hajduk led B grade qualifiers,and Mike Laws led C grade.  Unfortunately these  number ones were all knocked out in the first round of match play.
