 AGM BREAKERS MEN'S GOLF CLUB 2025

Today’s Men’s A.G.M was well attended by members and Mounties Executive.

The new committee for 2025- 2026

Committee Members      Wayne Fuller, Warren Butts, Mark Chilvers, Bruce Grant

Patrons: Jeff Perry and Lance Harrigan.

Business Items covered during meeting:

Focus Group: Combined Women, Men’s committee and advisory board representatives to discuss possible changes and improvements for Breakers Golf Club as a whole, with Breakers management.

Members can have input via respective committee preferably in writing.

Working Bees: With fine weather it is hoped that working bees will be back on track this year assisting ground staff with several projects. If any member is interested put your name down with President Glenn

Club Championship Form: A show of hands revealed members preferred the old format of 4 days of stroke play. Although it was suggested that committee consider a match play championship to be also run.

Toilet on the course: Advised that Mounties have rejected idea due to cost, possible vandalism and maintenance.

Major Projects: Major projects for the forthcoming year involve Drainage on the 9th fairway, completion of rock wall on 9th green and steps onto 2nd tee.

Sunday 11oclock competition : New Sunday,  medley  competition is a trial only and will cease if not utilised by members.

2 025 SENIOR PENNANT ROUND 1RESULTS OUTSTANDING WIN FOR ‘A’ GRADE What a great start to the Senior Pennant competition. It has been a quite a few years since Breakers entered an ‘A’ Grade side  in the District Pennant. Our first match was held at Toukley GC. Conditions were great for golf and our A, B and C grade teams fired up and ready to go. Our opponents for the first match, Kooindah Waters. A grade led the way with Greg Duval, Adam Knight, Nick Merritt  (Captain), Greg Swanson, Alan Ball and Phil Carter. Most of the matches were remarkably close and Phil Carter securing a  half in his match to give the team an Historic Victory, 3 ½ to 2 ½ win. Wins for Alan Ball, Nick Merritt and Greg Swanson. ‘ B’ GRADE ‘B’ Grade had a disappointing start to their 2025 Pennants campaign,  going down 2 ½ - 1 ½. Where’s My Buggy

  Don Ball  reflecting on last Saturday afternoon, still not sure what happened, it all started after he hit a great drive on the third short of the bunker on the right just before the creek with steel trap like concertation he proceeded to hit his second shot a seven iron straight but short of the green ,  not bad he though as he went to put his club into his bag.  Bugger no bag or buggy in sight nor did his playing partners have any clue where his clubs and buggy were.  Nothing in front or behind him starting to wonder if the golfing gods were getting back at him for such a good tee  shot,  he heard a churning sound coming from the drain on the  right-hand  side of the path and there they were in the deepest murkiest part of the drain upside down with the wheels still turning Off with his shoes and socks and into the deeps of the murky drain to save his beloved clubs and after great effort he pulled and shoved them to safety.  H e then...
