Breakers Win the 2026 Challenge Cup

The weather gods were not particularly kind as teams from across the Coast gathered at Everglades to contest the 2026 Challenge Cup. Intermittent showers throughout the day resulted in wet scorecards and even wetter players.

Despite the conditions, there were plenty of smiles when competitors returned to the clubhouse. Some were simply delighted to have finished the round, but most reflected a day well enjoyed, with new friendships formed and plenty of good golf shared along the way.

After all scores were tabulated, the individual winners were:

Overall Winners

  • Ladies: Sally Hopkins (Breakers) – 37 points

  • Men: Coby Taylor (Toukley) – 35 points

Ladies

  • A Grade: Jennifer Kidd (Wyong) – 30 points

  • B Grade: Lyndall Hendry (Everglades) – 35 points

  • C Grade: Symone Anastas (Mingara) – 31 points (countback)

Men

  • A Grade: Darren Bateman (Gosford) – 34 points

  • B Grade: George Duffy (Everglades) – 34 points

  • C Grade: Garry Burke (Breakers) – 32 points

The Challenge Cup was ultimately claimed by Breakers with an outstanding aggregate score of 186 points, finishing comfortably ahead of Everglades on 176 points.
