BREAKERS MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP 2025 Sunday saw a field of four players per division with the match play format. Players were evenly matched with three of the groups going to the 18th hole for a result. There was some exciting tussles, no more so than Greg Swanson and Glenn Bainbridge , going down the 18th all square, Greg pushed his tee shot right, into the trees, Glenn a great drive down the middle, advantage Glenn, Greg took the penalty only to hit a magnificent 3rd shot to within 3 metres of the pin, Glenn came up short to the right for 2, his 3rd shot, a chip landed on the ridge in the middle of the green but did not roll out to the pin, which was located at the back of the green, thus was still short for 4. Greg sank a great putt for a par 4 and took the match. A special mention has got to go to our one and only terrier, Stephen Adlard down by 2 at the 12 to fight his way back to win 4 holes in a row and take the match 2 and 1. Results: A Grade:      Greg Swanson ...

BREAKERS CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP 2025 This weekend saw 52 players compete in our club, championship qualifier over two days in fine weather. The course was in great condition, and the pin placements were fair but challenging especially on our new 9 th / 18 th green where I believe even our “A” grades managed some triple bogies. A special thanks to Craig who added some nice touches around the course like mown aprons at the front of the greens and overall presentation of the course. Although there were plenty of stories about missed opportunities, bad bounces and if only, at the end of the day winners are grinners and in this case, there are eight players in each division go through to next week’s match play format well done to you all. Your Tee Booking times have now been set refer to Tee Times on our simple golf app.

Trivia Night 2025 Captain, Pete's Report A great turnout with 70 quizzers enjoying the evening. Alan the Brains Trust quizzer went down extremely well and for mine, was well worth the money. Chris Mott won the Lolly Jar and kindly offered the prize up for auction. Bidding started at $30 and eventually was sold to Andy Connolly for the sum of $120. Always though Andy was a bit of a sweety. A big thank you to the team from  RV Hub who seemed to have purchased most of the raffle tickets, winning heaps of prizes, most given away or sold. The money they received was then donating back to the fund raiser. Many thanks to RV Hub at Erina. The Chipping and Putting comp were well supported with David Coxall winning the Chipping and Max Szwarcberg winning the Putting. The winners of the Trivia were the team Periwinkle, which did include Life Members Jeff Perry and Bruce Grant. Thank you to Jill Lavery, Linda Ball and Brian Ferrao for selling the raffle tickets. Gill Wilson for ...

The Axeman – Match Play Final Report Sunday, 12th October 2025 The Axeman Final was played on Sunday 12 October, We had 10 very nervous starters on the first tee, none more so than Chris Seaman, who hit his first drive well out of bounds, nearly followed it with his second, yet miraculously found the green with his fourth shot and made a five!   84-year-old Barry Hayward proving that size and age do count! Barry claimed the 2025 title with a hard-fought victory over Warren Butts in a match full of tension, skill, and memorable moments. The creek on the ninth once again proved costly for Warren, while Barry kept his composure to close out the match and lift the Axeman trophy . A big thank you from organizer Captain Peter to Bruce and Gill for their assistance on the day, ensuring the event ran smoothly. Appreciation is also extended to Habitat Tree Works for their continued support as sponsors, helping make the Axeman a highlight of the golfing calendar. Chris Mott ...
